What does an EV diagnostic check include?
A proper EV diagnostic reads manufacturer-level fault codes across the battery management system, inverter, onboard charger and thermal control, then tests pack state-of-health at module level and checks isolation resistance. A generic OBD-II scan sees almost none of this.
How much does an EV battery health test cost?
Typically $100–$300 for a documented state-of-health report. It is the single most valuable test before buying a used EV, and worth having on record before a battery warranty expires.
Should I get a pre-purchase inspection on a used EV?
